Gary Mitchell, 48, from Willbye Avenue, Diss, arranged the attack to take place while his wife took their son, aged nine, to school in Great Yarmouth.
Mitchell admitted conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm on his wife Sandra in 2005.
Judge Peter Jacobs described Mitchell as 'obsessive and manipulative'."
